Aisha Jamila Hinds was born in America and is most well-known for her performance on The Shield. Her versatility has been demonstrated in TV series including 9-1-1 Detroit 1, 8-7, and Under the Dome since she first made an appearance as an actor in 2003. The first time she was noticed was for her character Anna in the film Assault on Precinct 13. It was however her portrayal of women's liberation activist Fannie Louis Hamer, in the biopic All the Way, which gave her the respect she deserved as an actress. Hind was also acknowledged for her portrayal of Harriet Tubman in WGN America's historical drama series Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. The show has been renewed for the third season with 20th Century Fox Television. Hind has recently completed filming for the Hollywood movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which will release in the middle of 2019. His father Krishnaraj is an Army scientist and died March 18, 2017. Her mother Vrinda was a domestic worker. She has an older brother Aditya Rai, who is an engineer in the merchant navy. His brother wrote and produced the movie Dil Ka Rishta with their mother. Arya Vidya Mandir School was the high school she attended located in Mumbai after moving there with her family. Jai Hind College was her final intermediate school before joining D.G. Ruparel College in Matunga where she was awarded a 99% mark score in the H.S.C. exams. She spent five years in adolescence studying classical dance and music. She loved the study of zoology. Bachchan was a student of Architecture when she became Miss World. This title was a boost to her career in the world of modeling. Her contract was lucrative in the form of Vogue magazine and PepsiCo Inc., along with an L'Oreal Paris spokesperson contract in 2003. Her acting career got off well with her highly acclaimed parts in Iruvar (1997) and Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya (1997). Bachchan was thrust into the forefront of New Bollywood after both films disrupted the established structure of Bollywood films of the moment. Bachchan made her a queen of Bollywood by playing Paro the betrayed love of Paro in Devdas, (2002). Devdas was one of Bollywood's biggest successes. It was also the first film that was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Following that the film, she was recognized for her performance in the film Chokher Bali (2003) which was a tense thriller based on Rabindranathtagore's novel. She became the very first Indian actor to be a part of the Cannes Film Festival's jury that same year. Bachchan played in Gurinder Chedha's Bride and Prejudice. This ballet and musical adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is directed by Gurinder. Bachchan has been able to add her beauty and star power in her debut English language film. The actress returned to Bollywood for the smash Dhoom: 2 (2006) prior to releasing Provoked The Story of Provoked True Story (2006) in English. In April 2007, she was married to Abhishek Bachchan a frequent co-star, and son of Bollywood great Amitabh Bachchan in a marriage that brought together two of India's greatest personalities.
